열왕기하 17:1-18:12

 하나님의 말씀을 거역하고 우상 숭배로 점철된 패역한 길을 걷던 북이스라엘은 결국 호세아 왕을 마지막으로 앗수르에 의해 멸망당하고 말았다. 유다 역대 왕 가운데 가장 탁월했던 히스기야 왕이 대대적인 종교 개혁을 단행하고 선정을 베풀었다.
  
  북이스라엘의 멸망(17:1-17:41)    
 
  1. 유다의 아하스 왕 제 십이년에 엘라의 아들 호세아가 사마리아에서 왕이 되어, 이스라엘을 아홉 해 동안 다스렸다.
  2. 그는 주님께서 보시기에 악을 행하였으나, 그 이전의 이스라엘 왕들만큼 악하지는 않았다.
  3. 앗시리아의 살만에셀 왕이 그를 치러 올라오니, 호세아 왕은 그에게 항복하고 조공을 바쳤다.
  4. 그러나 앗시리아 왕은, 호세아가 이집트의 소 왕에게 사절들을 보내어 반역을 기도하고, 해마다 하던 것과는 달리, 앗시리아 왕에게 조공을 내지 않는 것을 알고 나서는, 호세아를 잡아 감옥에 가두었다.
  5. 그리고 난 뒤에 앗시리아의 왕이 이스라엘 전역으로 밀고 들어와서, 사마리아로 올라와 세 해 동안이나 도성을 포위하였다.
  1. In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah became king over Israel in Samaria, and reigned nine years.
  2. He did evil in the sight of the LORD, only not as the kings of Israel who were before him.
  3. Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him, and Hoshea became his servant and paid him tribute.
  4. But the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea, who had sent messengers to So king of Egypt and had offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year; so the king of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison.
  5. Then the king of Assyria invaded the whole land and went up to Samaria and besieged it three years.
  1. 드디어 호세아 제 구년에 앗시리아 왕은 사마리아를 점령하고, 이스라엘 사람들을 앗시리아로 끌고 가서, 할라와 고산 강 가에 있는 하볼과 메대의 여러 성읍에 이주시켰다.
  2. 이렇게 된 것은, 이스라엘 자손이 자기들을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내어 이집트 왕 바로의 손아귀로부터 구원하여 주신 주 하나님을 거역하여, 죄를 짓고 다른 신들을 섬겼기 때문이며,
  3. 또 주님께서 이스라엘 자손의 면전에서 내쫓으신 이방 나라들의 관습과, 이스라엘의 역대 왕들이 잘못한 것을, 그들이 그대로 따랐기 때문이다.
  4. 이스라엘 자손은 또한 주님이신 그들의 하나님을 거역하여 옳지 못한 일을 저질렀다. 곧, 망대로부터 요새화된 성읍에 이르기까지, 온 성읍 안에 그들 스스로 산당을 세웠으며,
  5. 또 높은 언덕과 푸른 나무 아래에는 어느 곳에나 돌기둥들과 아세라 목상들을 세웠으며,
  1. In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and carried Israel away into exile to Assyria, and settled them in Halah and Habor, on the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
  2. Now this came about because the sons of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them up from the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and they had feared other gods
  3. and walked in the customs of the nations whom the LORD had driven out before the sons of Israel, and in the customs of the kings of Israel which they had introduced.
  4. The sons of Israel did things secretly which were not right against the LORD their God. Moreover, they built for themselves high places in all their towns, from watchtower to fortified city.
  5. They set for themselves sacred pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree,
  1. 주님께서 그들의 면전에서 내쫓으신 이방 나라들처럼, 모든 산당에서 분향을 하여 주님의 진노를 일으키는 악한 일을 하였으며,
  2. 또한 주님께서 그들에게 하지 말라고 하신 우상숭배를 하였다.
  3. 그런데도 주님께서는 이스라엘과 유다에 여러 예언자와 선견자를 보내어서 충고하셨다. "너희는 너희의 그 악한 길에서부터 돌아서서, 내가 너희 조상에게 명하고, 또 나의 종 예언자들을 시켜 내가 너희에게 준 그 모든 율법에 따라, 나의 명령과 나의 율례를 지켜라."
  4. 그러나 그들은 끝내 듣지 아니하였고, 주님이신 그들의 하나님께 신실하지 못하였던 그들의 조상들처럼, 완고하였다.
  5. 그리고 주님의 율례와, 주님께서 그들의 조상과 세우신 언약과, 그들에게 주신 경고의 말씀을 거절하고, 헛된 것을 따라가며 그 헛된 것에 미혹되었으며, 주님께서 본받지 말라고 명하신 이웃 나라들을 본받았다.
  1. and there they burned incense on all the high places as the nations did which the LORD had carried away to exile before them; and they did evil things provoking the LORD.
  2. They served idols, concerning which the LORD had said to them, "You shall not do this thing."
  3. Yet the LORD warned Israel and Judah through all His prophets and every seer, saying, "Turn from your evil ways and keep My commandments, My statutes according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you through My servants the prophets."
  4. However, they did not listen, but stiffened their neck like their fathers, who did not believe in the LORD their God.
  5. They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers and His warnings with which He warned them And they followed vanity and became vain, and went after the nations which surrounded them, concerning which the LORD had commanded them not to do like them.
  1. 또 그들은 주님이신 그들의 하나님께서 주신 그 모든 명을 내버리고, 쇠를 녹여 부어 두 송아지 형상을 만들었으며, 아세라 목상을 만들어 세우고, 하늘의 별들에게 절하며, 바알을 섬겼다.
  2. 그들은 또한 자기들의 자녀들을 불살라 제물로 바치는 일도 하였다. 그리고 복술도 하고, 주문도 외우며, 주님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 함으로써 주님께서 진노하시게 하였다.
  3. 그러므로 주님께서는 이스라엘에게 크게 진노하셨고, 그들을 그 면전에서 내쫓으시니 남은 것은 유다 지파뿐이었다.
  4. 그러나 유다도 또한 그들의 주님이신 하나님의 명령을 잘 지키지 아니하고, 이스라엘 사람들이 만든 규례를 그대로 따랐다.
  5. 그리하여 주님께서는 이스라엘의 모든 자손을 내쫓으시고, 그들을 징계하여 침략자들의 손에 넘겨 주셔서, 마침내는 주님의 면전에서 내쫓기까지 하셨다.
  1. They forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God and made for themselves molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.
  2. Then they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and practiced divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him.
  3. So the LORD was very angry with Israel and removed them from His sight; none was left except the tribe of Judah.
  4. Also Judah did not keep the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the customs which Israel had introduced.
  5. The LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them out of His sight.
  1. 그래서 이스라엘은 다윗의 집으로부터 갈라졌으며, 이스라엘은 느밧의 아들 여로보암을 왕으로 삼았고, 여로보암은 또한 이스라엘이 주님을 버리고 떠나서 큰 죄를 짓도록 만들었다.
  2. 이렇게 하여 이스라엘 자손은, 여로보암이 지은 그 모든 죄를 본받아 그대로 따라갔고, 그 죄로부터 돌이키려고 하지 않았다.
  3. 마침내 주님께서는, 그 종 예언자들을 보내어 경고하신 대로, 이스라엘을 그 면전에서 내쫓으셨다. 그래서 이 날까지 이스라엘은 자기들의 땅에서 앗시리아로 사로잡혀 가 있게 된 것이다.
  4. 이스라엘 자손을 사마리아에서 쫓아낸 앗시리아 왕은 바빌론과 구다와 아와와 하맛과 스발와임으로부터 사람들을 데려와서, 이스라엘 자손을 대신하여 사마리아 성읍에 살게 하였다. 그러자 그들은 사마리아를 자기들의 소유로 삼았으며, 이스라엘 성읍들 안에 정착하여 살았다.
  5. 그들은 그 곳에 정착하면서, 처음에는 주님을 경외하지 않았다. 그래서 주님께서는 사나운 사자들을 그들 가운데 풀어 놓으셔서, 그들을 물어 죽이게 하셨다.
  1. When He had torn Israel from the house of David, they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king Then Jeroboam drove Israel away from following the LORD and made them commit a great sin.
  2. The sons of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they did not depart from them
  3. until the LORD removed Israel from His sight, as He spoke through all His servants the prophets So Israel was carried away into exile from their own land to Assyria until this day.
  4. The king of Assyria brought men from Babylon and from Cuthah and from Avva and from Hamath and Sephar-vaim, and settled them in the cities of Samaria in place of the sons of Israel. So they possessed Samaria and lived in its cities.
  5. At the beginning of their living there, they did not fear the LORD; therefore the LORD sent lions among them which killed some of them.
  1. 그러므로 그들이 앗시리아 왕에게 이 사실을 알리면서 이렇게 말하였다. "임금님께서 우리를 사마리아로 이주시키셔서, 이 성읍에서 살게 하셨습니다. 그렇지만 이리로 이주한 민족들은 이 지역의 신에 관한 관습을 모릅니다. 그래서 그 신이 우리들 가운데 사자를 보내어, 우리들을 계속 물어 죽이게 하였습니다. 이것은 이 땅의 신에 대한 관습을 모르기 때문에 일어난 일인 줄 압니다."
  2. 그래서 앗시리아 왕은 부하들에게 다음과 같은 지시를 하였다. "그 곳에서 사로잡아 온 제사장 한 명을 그 곳으로 돌려보내어라. 그가 그 곳에 살면서, 그 지역의 신에 대한 관습을 새 이주민에게 가르치게 하여라."
  3. 그리하여 사마리아로부터 사로잡혀 온 제사장 가운데 한 사람이, 그리로 돌아가 베델에 살면서, 주님을 경외하는 방법을 그들에게 가르쳤다.
  4. 그러나 각 민족은 제각기 자기들의 신들을 만들어 섬겼다. 그래서 각 민족은 그들이 살고 있는 성읍 안에서 만든 신들을 사마리아 사람들이 만든 산당 안에 가져다 놓았다.
  5. 바빌론 사람들은 숙곳브놋을 만들고, 구다 사람들은 네르갈을 만들고, 하맛 사람들은 아시마를 만들었다.
  1. So they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, "The nations whom you have carried away into exile in the cities of Samaria do not know the custom of the god of the land; so he has sent lions among them, and behold, they kill them because they do not know the custom of the god of the land."
  2. Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, "Take there one of the priests whom you carried away into exile and let him go and live there; and let him teach them the custom of the god of the land."
  3. So one of the priests whom they had carried away into exile from Samaria came and lived at Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
  4. But every nation still made gods of its own and put them in the houses of the high places which the people of Samaria had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
  5. The men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, the men of Cuth made Nergal, the men of Hamath made Ashima,
  1. 아와 사람들은 닙하스와 다르닥을 만들었으며, 스발와임 사람들은 자기들의 신인 아드람멜렉과 아남멜렉에게 그들의 자녀를 불살라 바치기도 하였다.
  2. 그러면서도 그들은 주님을 공경하기도 하였다. 그리하여 그들은 그들 가운데서 산당 제사장을 뽑아 세워, 산당에서 제사를 드리게 하였다.
  3. 이렇게 그들은 주님도 경외하면서, 다른 한편으로는 그들이 잡혀오기 전에 살던 그 지역의 관습을 따라, 그들 자신들이 섬기던 신도 섬겼다.
  4. 그들은 오늘날까지도 그들의 옛 관습을 따르고 있어서, 주님을 바르게 경외하는 사람이 없다. 그들은 주님께서 이스라엘이라고 이름을 지어 주신 야곱의 자손에게 명하신, 그 율례와 법도와 율법과 계명을 지키지 않는다.
  5. 옛날에 주님께서 야곱의 자손과 언약을 세우시고 명하셨다. "너희는 다른 신들을 경외하지 못한다. 그들에게 절하지 못하며, 그들을 섬기지 못하며, 그들에게 제사드리지 못한다.
  1. and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech the gods of Sepharvaim.
  2. They also feared the LORD and appointed from among themselves priests of the high places, who acted for them in the houses of the high places.
  3. They feared the LORD and served their own gods according to the custom of the nations from among whom they had been carried away into exile.
  4. To this day they do according to the earlier customs: they do not fear the LORD, nor do they follow their statutes or their ordinances or the law, or the commandments which the LORD commanded the sons of Jacob, whom He named Israel;
  5. with whom the LORD made a covenant and commanded them, saying, "You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down yourselves to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them.
  1. 오직 큰 능력으로 팔을 펴시어 너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내신 그분 주님만을 경외하고, 그분에게만 절하고 제사를 드려야 한다.
  2. 주님께서 몸소 기록하셔서 너희에게 주신 율례와 법도와 율법과 계명을 항상 지키고, 다른 신을 경외하지 않아야 한다.
  3. 내가 너희와 세운 언약을 잊어서는 안 된다. 다른 신들을 경외하지 못한다.
  4. 오직 너희는 주 너희의 하나님만을 경외하여야 한다. 그분만이 너희를 모든 원수의 손에서 구원하여 주실 것이다."
  5. 그러나 그들은 이 명령을 들으려 하지 않고, 그들의 옛 관습만을 그대로 지키려고 하였다.
  1. "But the LORD, who brought you up from the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, Him you shall fear, and to Him you shall bow yourselves down, and to Him you shall sacrifice.
  2. "The statutes and the ordinances and the law and the commandment which He wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever; and you shall not fear other gods.
  3. "The covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, nor shall you fear other gods.
  4. "But the LORD your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies."
  5. However, they did not listen, but they did according to their earlier custom.
  1. 그리하여 이주해 온 민족들은 한편으로는 주님을 경외하면서도, 다른 한편으로는 그들이 부어 만든 우상들을 또한 섬겼다. 그들의 자녀와 자손도 그들의 조상이 한 것을 오늘날까지도 그대로 따라 하고 있다.
  1. So while these nations feared the LORD, they also served their idols; their children likewise and their grandchildren, as their fathers did, so they do to this day.
 
  히스기야의 통치(18:1-18:12)    
 
  1. 이스라엘의 엘라 왕의 아들 호세아 제 삼년에, 아하스의 아들 히스기야가 유다 왕이 되었다.
  2. 그가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 스물다섯 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 스물아홉 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 아비는 스가랴의 딸이다.
  3. 그는 조상 다윗이 한 모든 것을 그대로 본받아, 주님께서 보시기에 올바른 일을 하였다.
  4. 그는 산당을 헐어 버렸고, 돌기둥들을 부수었으며, 아세라 목상을 찍어 버렸다. 그는 또한 모세가 만든 구리 뱀도 산산조각으로 깨뜨려 버렸다. 이스라엘 자손이 그 때까지도 느후스단이라고 부르는 그 구리 뱀에게 분향하고 있었기 때문이다.
  5. 그는 주님이신 이스라엘의 하나님만을 신뢰하였는데, 유다 왕 가운데는 전에도 후에도 그만한 왕이 없었다.
  1. Now it came about in the third year of Hoshea, the son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah became king.
  2. He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.
  3. He did right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father David had done.
  4. He removed the high places and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the Asherah He also broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it; and it was called Nehushtan.
  5. He trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him.
  1. 그는 주님에게만 매달려, 주님을 배반하는 일이 없이, 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 계명들을 준수하였다.
  2. 어디를 가든지, 주님께서 그와 같이 계시므로, 그는 늘 성공하였다. 그는 앗시리아 왕에게 반기를 들고, 그를 섬기지 않았다.
  3. 그는 가사와 그 전 경계선까지, 또 망대로부터 요새화된 성읍에 이르기까지, 블레셋을 모두 쳐부수었다.
  4. 히스기야 왕 제 사년 곧 이스라엘의 엘라의 아들 호세아 왕 제 칠년에, 앗시리아의 살만에셀 왕이 사마리아를 포위하여,
  5. 세 해 만에 그 도성을 함락시켰다. 곧 히스기야 제 육년과, 이스라엘의 호세아 왕 제 구년에 그들이 사마리아를 함락시킨 것이다.
  1. For he clung to the LORD; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the LORD had commanded Moses.
  2. And the LORD was with him; wherever he went he prospered And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.
  3. He defeated the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from watchtower to fortified city.
  4. Now in the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it.
  5. At the end of three years they captured it; in the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was captured.
  1. 앗시리아 왕은 이스라엘 사람들을 앗시리아로 사로잡아 가서, 그들을 할라와 고산 강 가의 하볼과 메대의 여러 성읍에 이주시켰다.
  2. 이렇게 된 것은, 그들이 자기들의 하나님이신 주님의 말씀을 듣지 않고, 그의 언약을 깨뜨렸으며, 주님의 종 모세가 명령한 모든 것을, 순종하지도 않고 실천하지도 않았기 때문이다.
  1. Then the king of Assyria carried Israel away into exile to Assyria, and put them in Halah and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
  2. because they did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed His covenant, even all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded; they would neither listen nor do it.
