- 지혜가 일곱 기둥을 깎아 세워서 제 집을 짓고,
- 짐승을 잡고, 포도주를 잘 빚어서, 잔칫상을 차린 다음에,
- 시녀들을 보내어, 성읍 높은 곳에서 외치게 하였다.
- "어수룩한 사람은 누구나 이리로 발길을 돌려라." 지각이 모자라는 사람도 초청하라고 하였다.
- "와서 내가 차린 음식을 먹고, 내가 잘 빚은 포도주를 마셔라.

- Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars;
- She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine; She has also set her table;
- She has sent out her maidens, she calls From the tops of the heights of the city:
- "Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!" To him who lacks understanding she says,
- "Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine I have mixed.

- 어수룩한 길을 내버리고, 생명을 얻어라. 명철의 길을 따라가거라" 하였다.
- 거만한 사람을 훈계하면 수치를 당할 수 있고, 사악한 사람을 책망하면 비난을 받을 수 있다.
- 거만한 사람을 책망하지 말아라. 그가 너를 미워할까 두렵다. 지혜로운 사람은 꾸짖어라. 그가 너를 사랑할 것이다.
- 지혜로운 사람은 훈계를 할수록 더욱 지혜로워지고 의로운 사람은 가르칠수록 학식이 더할 것이다.
- 주님을 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근본이요, 거룩하신 이를 아는 것이 슬기의 근본이다.

- "Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding."
- He who corrects a scoffer gets dishonor for himself, And he who reproves a wicked man gets insults for himself.
- Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you.
- Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.
- The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

- 나 지혜로 말미암아 네가 오래 살 것이요, 네 수명도 길어질 것이다.
- 네가 지혜로우면 그 지혜가 네게 유익하지만, 네가 거만하면 그 거만이 너만 해롭게 할 것이다.

- For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.
- If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.
