  1. When Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon, because he had always been on friendly terms with David.
  2. Solomon sent back this message to Hiram:
  3. "You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.
  4. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
  5. I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when he said, 'Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.'

  4. ³ªÀÇ Á¾µéÀÌ ·¹¹Ù³í¿¡¼­ºÎÅÍ ¹Ù´Ù¿¡±îÁö ³ª¹«¸¦ ¿î¹ÝÇÏ°í, ¹Ù´Ù¿¡ ¶Â¸ñÀ¸·Î ¶ç¿ö¼­, ÀӱݴԲ²¼­ ³ª¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇϽŠ°÷±îÁö º¸³»°í, ±× °÷¿¡¼­ ±× ³ª¹«¸¦ Ç®¾î ³õÀ» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ±×·¯¸é ÀӱݴԲ²¼­´Â ²ø¾î¿Ã¸®±â¸¸ ÇÏ½Ã¸é µË´Ï´Ù. ±×¸®°í ±× °ªÀ¸·Î ³»°¡ ¹Ù¶ó´Â °ÍÀº, ³ªÀÇ ¿Õ½Ç¿¡¼­ ¾µ ¸Ô°Å¸®¸¦ Á¦°øÇÏ¿© Áֽô °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù."
  5. ÀÌ·¸°Ô ÇÏ¿©¼­, È÷¶÷Àº ¹éÇâ¸ñ Àç¸ñ°ú À㳪¹« Àç¸ñÀ» ¼Ö·Î¸óÀÌ ¿øÇÏ´Â ´ë·Î ´Ù º¸³» ÁÖ¾ú´Ù.
  1. "So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians."
  2. When Hiram heard Solomon's message, he was greatly pleased and said, "Praise be to the LORD today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation."
  3. So Hiram sent word to Solomon: "I have received the message you sent me and will do all you want in providing the cedar and pine logs.
  4. My men will haul them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate them and you can take them away. And you are to grant my wish by providing food for my royal household."
  5. In this way Hiram kept Solomon supplied with all the cedar and pine logs he wanted,

  2. ÁÖ´Ô²²¼­´Â, ¾à¼ÓÇϽŠ±× ¸»¾¸´ë·Î, ¼Ö·Î¸ó¿¡°Ô ÁöÇý¸¦ Áּż­, È÷¶÷°ú ¼Ö·Î¸ó »çÀÌ¿¡´Â ÆòÈ­°¡ ÀÖ¾ú´Ù. ±×¸®°í ±× µÑÀº Á¶¾àµµ ¸Î¾ú´Ù.
  3. ¼Ö·Î¸ó ¿ÕÀº À̽º¶ó¿¤ Àü±¹¿¡¼­ ³ë¹«ÀÚ¸¦ ºÒ·¯ ¸ð¾Ò´Âµ¥, ±× ¼ö´Â »ï¸¸ ¸íÀ̳ª µÇ¾ú´Ù.
  4. ±×´Â ±×µéÀ» ÇÑ ´Þ¿¡ ¸¸ ¸í¾¿ ¹ø°¥¾Æ ·¹¹Ù³íÀ¸·Î º¸³»¾î, ÇÑ ´ÞÀº ·¹¹Ù³í¿¡¼­ ÀÏÀ» ÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ°í, µÎ ´ÞÀº º»±¹¿¡¼­ ÀÏÀ» ÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿´´Ù. ³ë¿ªºÎÀÇ Ã¥ÀÓÀÚ´Â ¾Æµµ´Ï¶÷À̾ú´Ù.
  5. ¼Ö·Î¸ó¿¡°Ô´Â, ÁüÀ» ¿î¹ÝÇÏ´Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ Ä¥¸¸ ¸íÀÌ ÀÖ¾ú°í, »ê¿¡¼­ ä¼®ÇÏ´Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ Æȸ¸ ¸íÀÌ ÀÖ¾ú´Ù.
  1. and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths , of pressed olive oil. Solomon continued to do this for Hiram year after year.
  2. The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, just as he had promised him. There were peaceful relations between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.
  3. King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel--thirty thousand men.
  4. He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.
  5. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills,

  3. ±×¸®ÇÏ¿© ¼Ö·Î¸óÀÇ °ÇÃàÀÚµé°ú È÷¶÷ÀÇ °ÇÃàÀÚµé°ú ±×¹ß »ç¶÷µéÀº µ¹À» ´Ùµë¾ú°í, ¼ºÀüÀ» °ÇÃàÇÏ´Â µ¥ ¾µ ¸ñÀç¿Í ¼®À縦 ÁغñÇÏ¿´´Ù.
  1. as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
  2. At the king's command they removed from the quarry large blocks of quality stone to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple.
  3. The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and the men of Gebal cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.

  2. ¼Ö·Î¸ó ¿ÕÀÌ ÁÖ´Ô²² Áö¾î ¹ÙÄ£ ¼ºÀüÀº, ±æÀÌ°¡ ¿¹¼ø ÀÚÀÌ°í, ³Êºñ°¡ ½º¹« ÀÚÀÌ°í, ³ôÀÌ°¡ ¼­¸¥ ÀÚÀÌ´Ù.
  3. ¼ºÀüÀÇ º»´ç ¾Õ¿¡ ÀÖ´Â Çö°üÀº, ±× ±æÀÌ°¡ ½º¹« Àڷμ­, ±× º»´çÀÇ ³Êºñ¿Í ¶È°°°í, ±× ³Êºñ´Â ¼ºÀü º»´ç ¹ÛÀ¸·Î ¿­ ÀÚ¸¦ ´õ ´Þ¾Æ³Â´Ù.
  4. ±×¸®°í ±×´Â ¼ºÀü º®¿¡´Ù°¡ ºÙ¹ÚÀÌâÀ» ¸¸µé¾ú´Âµ¥, ¹Ù±ùÂÊÀ» ¾ÈÂʺ¸´Ù Á¼°Ô ¸¸µé¾ú´Ù.
  5. ±×¸®°í ±× »ç¹æ¿¡ °ñ¹æÀ» ¸¸µé¾ú´Ù. ¼ºÀüÀÇ º® °ð º»´ç ¾ç ¿·°ú µÚ·Î´Â, Âß µ¹¾Æ°¡¸é¼­ »ïÃþÀ¸·Î ´Ù¶ôÀ» ¸¸µé¾ú´Ù.
  1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
  2. The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
  3. The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
  4. He made narrow clerestory windows in the temple.
  5. Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.

  2. µ¹Àº ä¼®Àå¿¡¼­ Àß ´Ùµë¾î³½ °ÍÀ» ½èÀ¸¹Ç·Î, ¸·»ó ¼ºÀüÀ» ÁöÀ» ¶§¿¡´Â, ¸ÁÄ¡³ª Á¤ µî, ¼è·Î ¸¸µç ¾î¶°ÇÑ ¿¬Àå ¼Ò¸®µµ, ¼ºÀü¿¡¼­´Â ÀüÇô µé¸®Áö ¾Ê¾Ò´Ù.
  3. °¡¿îµ¥ Ãþ¿¡ ÀÖ´Â °ñ¹æÀ¸·Î µé¾î°¡´Â ¹®Àº ¼ºÀüÀÇ ³²ÂÊ Ãø¸é¿¡ ÀÖÀ¸¸ç, ³ª»ç ¸ð¾çÀÇ Ãþ°è¸¦ µû¶ó¼­, °¡¿îµ¥ ÃþÀ¸·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡°Ô ÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¶Ç °¡¿îµ¥ Ãþ¿¡¼­ºÎÅÍ »ïÃþ±îÁöµµ ³ª»ç ¸ð¾çÀÇ Ãþ°è¸¦ µû¶ó¼­ ¿Ã¶ó°¡°Ô ÇÏ¿´´Ù.
  4. ÀÌ·¸°Ô Çؼ­ ±×´Â ¼ºÀü Áþ±â¸¦ ¿Ï¼ºÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¼ºÀüÀÇ ÃµÀåÀº ¹éÇâ¸ñ ¼­±î·¡¿Í ³ÎºþÁö·Î µ¤¾ú´Ù.
  5. ¶ÇÇÑ ¼ºÀü Àüü¿¡´Ù°¡ µ¹¾Æ°¡¸é¼­ ³ôÀÌ°¡ Àú¸¶´Ù ´Ù¼¸ ÀÚ¾¿ µÇ´Â ´Ù¶ôÀ» Áö¾ú´Âµ¥, ¹éÇâ¸ñ µéº¸·Î ¼ºÀü¿¡ ¿¬°áÇÏ¿´´Ù.
  1. The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
  2. In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
  3. The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
  4. So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
  5. And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.

  3. ¶ÇÇÑ ³ª´Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õ°ú ´õºÒ¾î, ±×µé °¡¿îµ¥¼­ ÇÔ²² »ì°Ú°í, ³» ¹é¼º À̽º¶ó¿¤À» °áÄÚ ¹ö¸®Áö ¾Ê°Ú´Ù."
  4. ¼Ö·Î¸óÀÌ ¼ºÀü Áþ±â¸¦ ¸¶ÃÆ´Ù.
  5. ¼ºÀüÀÇ ¾ÈÂÊ º®¿¡´Â ¹Ù´Ú¿¡¼­ õÀå¿¡ ´ê±â±îÁö º® Àüü¿¡ ¹éÇâ¸ñ ³ÎºþÁö¸¦ ÀÔÈ÷°í, ¼ºÀüÀÇ ¹Ù´Ú¿¡´Â À㳪¹« ³ÎºþÁö¸¦ ±ò¾Ò´Ù.
  1. The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
  2. "As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
  3. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel."
  4. So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
  5. He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine.
