- 그가 차린 맛난 음식에 욕심을 내지 말아라. 그것은 너를 꾀려는 음식이다.
- 부자가 되려고 애쓰지 말고, 그런 생각을 끊어 버릴 슬기를 가져라.
- 한순간에 없어질 재물을 주목하지 말아라. 재물은 날개를 달고, 독수리처럼 하늘로 날아가 버린다.

- When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you,
- and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.
- Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.
- Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.
- Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

- 무릇 그 마음의 생각이 어떠하면 그의 사람됨도 그러하니, 그가 말로는 '먹고 마셔라' 하여도, 그 속마음은 너를 떠나 있다.
- 네가 조금 먹은 것조차 토하겠고, 너의 아첨도 헛된 데로 돌아갈 것이다.
